Hi All, got a day off to relax unwind, do some laundry and not wear that heavy stuff. I've added some pictures of the past week, some of the people I have gotten to know and hang out with. Haven't met anybody yet I can't get along with and so far everyone is upbeat, taking the training seriously, and still having fun. As I mentioned the Cadre are great.

They are playing the Narmy game as well. Speaking Navy talk and mixing it with Army Lingo, and vise verse we are also speaking Army so its a great relationship. The Drill Sgt's were handing out some papers yesterday and one of the sailors said "Thanks" the Drills response was "Thank Your Recruiter" the Drill Sgt Humor has always cracked

me up. They will have an answer or response for everything. Any of you that have been to a basic training can understand this. believe me its more fun as a peer in the same rank group than as a private. In the Army structure of things I am a squad leader in 2nd platoon, we are the "Mighty Mighty Predators, HOORAH!!" The other platoons are the dirt stingers, "Scorpions", the pussy cats, "Black Lions", and the sea puppies, "Sea Dogs". We are basically an infantry company, allot of completion amongst the platoons.
I also added some pictures from one of the ranges, some heavy weapon familiarization and where I am Staying at Camp McCrady. The big open paved area by the bus is the drill pad where we muster and form up for all movements, we call it "The Grinder"
Overall the week went by fast, I think we are all used to the body armor. I can even get it on by myself now

and losing balance is not a problem, reaching for something small an the ground really is possible. I put my jeans on last night to go to the main PX and noticed slightly looser. So for anyone who wants to loose some weight and get into shape quick, I have a plan for you. Keep posting stuff and sending the emails I have been able to get on a computer about every other day and I enjoy hearing from everybody.

Jim
PS, I fixed the date on my camera so we are in the right year now.
